This is a very sweet story.

The Stockton University Maple Grant Team has successfully produced 11 gallons of maple syrup.

It’s a lot of work. It takes 1,000 gallons of sap, from about 90 trees to make the 11 edible gallons of deliciousness.

The syrup was produced from red maple trees on Stockton University’s sprawling 1600 acre campus.

Never let it be said that Stockton University President Dr. Harvey Kesselman will shy away from any tough job.

“Hurley in the Morning” has learned and confirmed that Kesselman recently consumed some of the Osprey syrup on pancakes and stated that “It’s delightful.”

Stockton University has confirmed that “A group of Stockton professors last year received a three-year, $410,000 grant from the U.S Department of Agriculture to determine if the red maples that are abundant in New Jersey can produce enough sap to generate a cottage industry in the state.”

Stockton University is teaming up with private homeowners in the area. They are collecting their own sap and providing data for the project.
