After a bunch of good games and upsets last week, this week looks more like a traditional September weekend with the top teams playing a laundry list of weak competition.

Alabama will begin the season as the nation’s top-ranked team, coming in at No. 1 in the AP preseason Top 25. The Crimson Tide is followed by Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida State and LSU, rounding out the Top 5.

It’s a fairly quiet week as we enter the stretch run, with just one game between ranked teams. But there are still plenty of interesting questions to be answered this Saturday.

After all the upsets the last couple Saturdays, this looks to be a calmer week with just one game between ranked teams. But that doesn’t mean this weekend won’t have its own share of excitement. Here are the big storylines going into this weekend in college football.

Monmouth University (1-3) dominated the first 55 minutes of the game, building a 21-0 lead over that time en route to its first win of the 2013 season over the College of the Holy Cross. Listen to audio from the game.
