Republican Sen. Kristin Corrado said all commissioner Rob Asaro-Angelo offered was excuses when he testified before the Senate Labor Committee, and "what he should have offered was his resignation."

As many as 250,000 New Jersey residents who received pandemic unemployment benefits could be deemed ineligible and ordered to pay the money back.

In the aftermath of the November election, Democratic Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin said, “There was clearly a message that was sent by voters last Tuesday. We're going to sit down and figure out what that was.”

Since last March, more than 2.1 million residents have filed for unemployment benefits. More than 266,000 are considered long-term unemployed, meaning they have been collecting for more than a year.

Many in NJ are still rejecting jobs to take the summer off on unemployment.

Gov. Phil Murphy is suggesting the on-going worker shortage in New Jersey is a good thing.
