Egg Harbor Township Police are asking for your help with information about a hit-and-run crash last Saturday in the Bargaintown section of the township. A teenage girl was hit and injured while walking on the shoulder of the road and the driver responsible drove off.

Here is a press release from police about Saturday's incident.

"On Saturday November 5, 2016 at approximately 6:31 pm the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the area of Bargaintown Road, in the Bargaintown section of the township, for a hit and run pedestrian motor vehicle crash.

A 17 year old female pedestrian was walking north, in the southbound shoulder of Bargaintown Road. The suspect vehicle was traveling south on Bargaintown Road, crossed into the southbound shoulder, and struck the 17 year old pedestrian.

After impact, the suspect vehicle continued south on Bargaintown Road, towards Zion Road. The 17 year old pedestrian sustained non-life threatening injuries. She was treated on scene by Northfield EMS and Atlanticare Paramedics and transported to the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center’s Atlantic City Campus.

At this point in time the suspect vehicle and operator are still unknown. Due to statements gathered on scene and examination of vehicle parts left behind, the suspect vehicle is believed to be a newer model, Mazda 3 sedan, dark gray in color (gunmetal gray). The suspect vehicle should have damage to the front passenger side and is missing the lower portion of the front bumper.

Charges are pending the identification of the vehicle operator.
