A Mays Landing man is facing DWI and drug-related charges after he allegedly crashed his car with his 2-year-old daughter inside who was not restrained in a car seat.

Hamilton Township Police say they responded to the parking lot of the Mays Landing Diner on Route 40 around 10:30 Sunday night for the report of a car crash. Cops say the crash caused the vehicle to catch fire, but it was quickly extinguished.

The driver, 23-year-old Justin Tamanini of Mays Landing, and his 2-year-old daughter were not injured. Cops say the toddler was not restrained in a car seat.

Tamanini has been charged with DWI, DWI with a minor in the vehicle, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The investigation into the crash continues and police say additional criminal charges are expected to be filed.
