Vineland School Employee, Father Die of COVID Two Days Apart

COVID-19 has caused a great loss in one Vineland family, after a daughter and her father died of the virus within two days of one another.

Sheree Coccaro, 62, a security guard at Thomas Wallace Middle School in Vineland, died from coronavirus on Friday at Inspira Medical Center.

According to the Vineland Daily Journal, her father, Charles J. Scarpa Jr., a retired electrician and Vineland volunteer firefighter, died of the virus on Sunday.

Her obituary says Sheree Coccara worked with the Vineland Board of education for 26 years at various schools as a security officer, most recently at the Wallace School.

The 1976 graduate of Millville High School is survived by her husband of 40 years, Peter, and their two children and two grandchildren.

It is with great sadness that I inform you that we have lost a member of our school family. Our dear security guard, Mrs. Sheree Coccaro, passed away last night after a courageous battle with Covid.....Sheree was a beautiful soul who loved her job working with the students and staff of Wallace School. She will be greatly missed.

Her dad, Charles Charles Scarpa, 89, was a union electrician and a longtime volunteer firefighter with the North Vineland Fire Company #3. The Vineland Daily Journal also points out his athletic abilities playing in the Buena Vista fastpitch Softball League, where he pitched for 55 years.

She will be greatly missed. Her personality never changed. Always had a kind word and always greeted everyone with a smile every single day. Prayers to her family and all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

I can’t believe there will come a day when we walk back into the building and she won’t be there greeting us Although I only knew her for a short time, she touched my heart every single day with her warm smile and caring ways. She was a beautiful soul and I pray strength and healing for her family and all who knew her. She will be missed
