WILDWOOD — At least two decks collapsed on top of each other early Saturday evening at a three story residential building, leaving multiple people hurt, according to first responders.

Pictures posted by 6 ABC Action News show a large emergency response to the scene on Baker Avenue, as remnants of the fallen structures are on the sidewalk below. The exterior appears to have two lines from where the deck tore away from the building.

Police at the scene told 6 ABC Action News that the incident took place around 6 p.m.

Dominick Marino, president of the Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey, said Saturday night that ten people were hospitalized. He did not have any details about the ages, genders or conditions of the victims.

The accident happened during the annual New Jersey State Firemen's Convention, which is held each Sept. in Wildwood.

By Sunday morning, Cape May Regional Health System reported 21 people being treated there after Saturday evening's collapse in Wildwood. At least three patients are children.

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City confirmed at least one additional person was taken there for treatment.

The Sussex County Fire Chief's Association reported on their Facebook page that between 6 and 8 members of Branchville Hose Company #1 were on the second floor deck when it collapsed. All but one have been released from a hospital.

Wildwood police did not immediately return a message. Wildwood Fire Chief Daniel Speigel said more information about the collapse would be released on Sunday.
