Nationwide bargain chain Dollar Express, which is being purchased by rival chain Dollar General, will be closing all of its stores as the companies prepare to merge.

According to NJ.com there are 15 stores in New Jersey that will be affected as part of more than 300 across the country that will close, at least temporarily. The closures will affect close to 130 workers across the state.

The Detroit Free Press reported Dollar General is buying the real estate and leases of Dollar Express but not the inventory in the stores. There is also no assurance that employees would be given new jobs in their old stores.
