One of the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office's top ten most wanted fugitives has been taken into custody following a nearly 24-hour-long standoff with police on Ivins Avenue in Egg Harbor Township.

37-year-old Prentiss Blaylock was wanted on charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, child abuse, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest and theft.

Sheriff Joe O'Donoghue said in a brief statement,

The Atlantic County Sheriff's Office is immensely grateful for the tireless efforts and dedication of our own fugitive warrant division, the U.S. Marshals, the Atlantic County and Cape May County Swat Teams, the Egg Harbor Township Police, the State Police and FBI, the Atlantic County Office of Emergency Management and all agencies who contributed to this successful capture.

No injuries were reported.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
