An Atlantic City man is facing an attempted murder charge after cops say he was arrested for shooting a Camden County man in the city Tuesday evening.

Cops say they received a ShotSpotter alert around 5:15 Tuesday evening in the 1900 block of Missouri Avenue. Witnesses told the responding officers they observed a vehicle leave the area at a high rate of speed. Minutes later, according to police, a 51-year-old man from Sicklerville, walked into the Public Safety Building with a gunshot wound. He was taken to ARMC-City for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation lead to 23-year-old Robert Timmons of Atlantic City being identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody by officers Wednesday night.

Timmons was charged with attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
