Can You Ride The Joker at Six Flags This Weekend?
Six Flags Great Adventure expects to let season pass riders take a ride on the new Joker roller coaster on Friday and through the weekend.
The ride was opened to the media and season pass holders at the Jackson theme park on Thursday but the ride had to be shut down early in the afternoon.
"One of the trains was rocking a bit too much and came into the station in a reclined position. We're making a minor adjustment to reduce the rocking. No guests were injured," Six Flags spokeswoman Kristin B Siebeneicher said in an email.
She said that those who were in line waiting for a ride on Thursday were issued exit passes so they could ride another day and not wait in line.
"Our plan is to open the ride today at noon for previews to our season pass holders," Siebeneicher said. Once the daily safety checks are completed, park officials will know for sure whether The Joker will be open. All park visitors are expected to be able to ride the Joker on Saturday.
Riders of the 14th roller coaster at the Ocean County park face each other as they climb a 120-foot-tall, 90-degree hill to start a ride that free-fly flips over the park and gives a feeling of weightlessness.
