Egg Harbor Township Woman Arrested For Breaking Into a House, Stealing Beer
A woman from Egg Harbor Township was arrested Tuesday evening after police say she broke into a house and was seen leaving with a 12-pack of beer.
Around 6:30 Tuesday evening, EHT Police responded to a residence at the Club at Tilton off of Hingston Avenue after receiving a call about a possible burglary. A person in the area called police after hearing a loud bang. A short time later, a woman was seen leaving the rear of a house carrying a 12-pack of beer.
Two officers saw the suspect and her vehicle pass them on Hingston Avenue. They stopped the driver, Barbara Webb, and arrested her. An investigation revealed a lawn chair had been thrown through a rear sliding glass door to allow the suspect to gain entry to the house.
Webb was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, theft, DWI, and other motor vehicle charges and she was being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
