Hurley: Caldwell is Dropping Out of the Race for Atlantic County Sheriff

Impeccable sources have confirmed exclusively to me that Atlantic County Chief Sheriffs Officer Steve Caldwell is dropping out of the race for Sheriff.

I can also confirm that Caldwell will not be attending tonight's pivotal Egg Harbor Township Republican Club meeting.

This is the hometown of former State Senator and long-time Egg Harbor Township Mayor James Sonny McCullough, whereby Egg Harbor Township holds the most county committee delegates.

This paves the way for Somers Point Mayor Jack Glasser to be the Republican nominee for Atlantic County Sheriff, where he will likely face Eric Scheffler for the Constitutional Office being vacated by retiring Sheriff Frank X. Balles.
