Hurley: Gilliam Hires MIS Director at $20,000 Over Approved Starting Salary

Multiple Atlantic City Hall sources have confirmed exclusively to Harry Hurley that Mayor Frank M. Gilliam Jr. has "hired" an MIS Director (Manager of Information Services) at $100,000, which is $20,000 beyond the approved starting salary.

Gilliam also did so without state approval.

I have also confirmed that the position was not properly advertised in advance of Gilliam’s unauthorized hiring of this director.

Our sources have shared this new “hire” has been seen walking around City Hall.

Multiple sources have confirmed to me that the State Monitor, Timothy Cunningham, is very displeased with the unapproved hire by Gilliam.
