Lieutenant governor hurt in bicycle accident
Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was hospitalized after breaking her wrist riding her bicycle in Sea Bright on Thursday morning.
Spokesman Kevin Roberts said in a statement that Guadagno stopped suddenly to avoid hitting a car and fell off the bike. She was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment.
"She’s alert and in good spirits and will be staying overnight for routine observation," said Roberts.
Guadagno, who is acting governor while Chris Chistie campaigns in Arizona, cancelled an appearance in Camden as a result of the accident, according to the Record.
No word on whether the driver of the vehicle has been charged.
