Man Arrested in Atlantic City for Terroristic Threats
Atlantic City police say a man was arrested after he threatened to kill people and he barricaded himself in an apartment Wednesday afternoon.
57-year-old Brian Harris of Atlantic City has been charged with two counts of terroristic threats after cops responded to The Ocean at 101 Boardwalk complex around 3:00. Authorities say he threatened to kill a property employee.
A responding officer attempted to speak with Harris in his apartment. Harris yelled through a door that he would shoot the officer and anyone else that came through the door.
Members of the ACPD's Emergency Response Team responded and a crisis negotiator attempted to speak with Harris for about one hour. A press release says officers were in the hallway outside of the apartment when they began to smell something burning from inside. Fearing Harris had set fire to his apartment, officers entered and arrested Harris without incident.
Harris was released on a summons with a future court date.
