A motor vehicle accident turned fatal for a teenager from Millville after he was electrocuted.

The tragedy took place in Cumberland County on Saturday just after 6 PM.

That's when the 17-year-old lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole along East Point Road in Maurice River Township, according to Patch.com.

Even though the pole he hit broke in half, the teenage male driver and his passenger were reportedly not seriously injured from that accident, but the incident would prove fatal for one of them.

The driver got out of his vehicle, began to walk south down East Point Road, where he unfortunately came into contact with a live wire. He got electrocuted, Patch.com reports, and after being taken to a nearby hospital, passed away.

Neither the identity of the teenage driver who died or his passenger has been made public.

New Jersey State Police are investigating.
