Esther Salas is a United States District Court Judge, whose son was killed when an assailant attacked her family in July, 2020 at their New Jersey home.

Salas will be the keynote speaker at an upcoming Stockton University online seminar focusing on judicial safety.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 3:00 p.m.

The event is titled "A Threat to Judges - and Judicial Independence.” The webinar is sponsored by the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University and the New Jersey Hispanic Bar Association.

Salas’ husband was (Mark Anderl) was seriously and their son, Daniel, 20 was killed in the attack.

Both New Jersey state and federal laws have been named after Daniel have since been passed. These laws prohibit the publication of the addresses and personal information of judges.
