Photos: Atlantic City, NJ Police (1930’s) With ‘Our Gang’s Petey’

I love my job.

After writing an article this morning about The Clara Glen Pet Cemetery in Linwood, New Jersey and the fact that “Petey,” the famous dog from “Our Gang” is buried there … this inspired Hillary Cianci to kindly send me some amazing photos from the 1930’s of an Atlantic City Police Officer, who was related to her husband.

It turns out that Atlantic City Police Officer Bobby Silvagni posed for a photograph at Steel Pier with  “Petey,” See directly below.

“Petey” was appearing at The Steel Pier at the same time as another world famous dog, “Rex The Wonder Dog.”

”Rex” had a storied career at The Steel Pier, doing very bold water skiing feats.

”Rex The Wonder Dog” is also buried at Linwood, New Jersey’s Clara Glen Pet Cemetery, along with “Petey.”

The Atlantic City Police Officer to the far right is (last) named Grant. If anyone knows more about Officer Grant, please let me know. I would like to honor him and his public service.

Hi Harry, it's Hillary Cianci how are you ? My husbands Aunt Norma was married to the AC cop on the left Bobby Silvagni he was a cop i believe in the 30 s and when she passed in 2016 after cleaning out her house we found these awesome pics just thought i would show you this one itself is really cool with Petey from our gang because you just posted yourself about him and the cemetery I didn't realize he was buried in there that is pretty cool I just thought you would like to see this.
