STANDOFF: Man Barricaded Inside Jersey Shore Home

POINT PLEASANT BEACH — A man barricaded himself inside an Ocean County home on Monday afternoon.

Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardy said the man refused to come out of his home on Atlantic Avenue near Route 35 in Point Pleasant Beach, prompting a SWAT team to be called in. As of about 2 p.m, police were still negotiating with the man, whose identify Mastronardy did not disclose.

The sheriff said the man is "despondent."

The sheriff also said the man has  no hostages and no one has been injured.

Atlantic Ave was closed off in the area and police were asking people to stay clear.
