Cyber attacks on fiber optic networks throughout New Jersey could leave utility, transportation and communication networks vulnerable, according to a state lawmaker.
Most New Jersey schools were closed last Thursday and Friday for the New Jersey Education Association's annual teachers' convention. Assemblywoman Donna Simon said the convention should be moved to when school is already out, and she is in the process of drafting legislation to change the dates.
New Jersey has more school districts than municipalities and taxpayers foot the bill for them, but one lawmaker said it would be possible to save money if more districts merged.
