It may have been a move that was coming all along, but when Michal Neuvirth went down with an injury on Sunday afternoon, joining fellow regular netminder Brian Elliott with a lower-body injury, the Flyers and GM Ron Hextall were forced into action.
It was a very successful week for the Flyers, who claimed wins in four straight games this week. The winning streak was led by their captain Claude Giroux, who took home the NHL's 1st Star of the Week honors.
It is a grind from here. The Flyers have 33 games left on their schedule, starting with Wednesday’s, and they will all be played within a 67-day span. And given the way the standings look, each game will hold significant meaning.
