One man is dead and another is in critical condition following a shooting in Camden Wednesday night.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office says at about 10:30, officers with the Camden County Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area of the 300 block of Morse Street.

At the scene, cops found one man, 32-year-old Jose Hiraldo-Peralta of Camden, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside on the ground. A second victim, a 28-year-old man from Camden, was also suffering from a gunshot wound inside a nearby home.

Both were taken to Cooper University Hospital for treatment. Hiraldo-Peralta was pronounced dead about 35 minutes later; the other victim was last reported to be in critical but stable condition.

Authorities say their investigation into this double shooting is active and ongoing at this time.
