1-year-old Becomes Third Person to Die in Vineland Crash
A 1-year-old boy has become the third person to die following a car crash Sunday night in Vineland.
Vineland Police confirmed the death of the child to NJ.com Monday night.
According to NJ.com, a man from Vineland was traveling east on Almond Road Sunday night when, according to the Vineland Police Department, he failed to stop at the intersection with Delsea Drive. As he did, he crashed into a SUV being driven by 30-year-old Iban Garcia-Ruiz of Bridgeton. Garcia-Ruiz and his passenger, 32-year-old Elisa Perez-Hernandez of Bridgeton, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Published reports say there were two children in the backseat of the SUV, a 5-year-old girl, who remains hospitalized, and the 1-year-old boy who passed away.
The driver that failed to stop and his passenger, a man from Vineland, are also both in critical condition at that same hospital.
