3 adults charged when kids' hockey game turns nasty in NJ

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says that last Saturday, they were notified that a fight had taken place amongst parents at a ball hockey tournament in their municipality.

A video of the brawl that was shared with police first showed several players getting into a fight before parents ran onto the court.

While some parents ushered their kids out of the way, others fought with each other.

Following an investigation, these people were charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct:

  • 41-year-old Colleen Biddle of Philadelphia
  • 38-year-old Robert Schafer of Maple Shade
  • 38-year-old Justin Pacheco of Philadelphia

The trio received summonses while pending court.

Police were quick to remind everyone that simple assault at a youth sporting event is an indictable offense in New Jersey and such behavior will not be tolerated.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
