Around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon, according to a press release, an officer with the ACPD's Special Investigations Section was conducting a narcotics investigation when he observed a drug transaction between two men at South Carolina Avenue and Bacharach Boulevard. The officer was quickly able to arrest 23-year-old Quran Stokelin of Atlantic City after finding him in possession of a single bag of heroin.

As several other officers arrived, they were able to arrest 49-year-old Darryl Tyler, also of Atlantic City, who cops say sold the heroin to Stokelin. Tyler was found to be in possession of 34 bags of heroin. Also arrested was 33-year-old Clarice Dallas, who was with Tyler, after she was found in possession of marijuana.

A further investigation led to a search of Tyler’s residence in the 1500 block of Magellan Avenue where detectives recovered 6,325 bags of heroin, more than an ounce of raw heroin that had not yet been packaged for sale, and more than $8,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of heroin.

The three people that were arrested are now facing various drug-related charges.

Anyone with information about this incident or has information on narcotics in the city is urged to contact the Atlantic City Police Department Special Investigations Section at 609-347-5858.
