Three teenagers -- one only 13 years old -- are in trouble with the law after police say they stole a teacher's car and then ran from police in Atlantic City.

Thursday evening, Atlantic City police responded to the New York Avenue school when a teacher reported her car stolen. A press release says the key to her Mercedes-Benz had been taken off of a key chain. Officers contacted Mercedes-Benz and they were able to locate the car in the 1100 block of Commodore Avenue in the city.

As an officer approached the stolen vehicle, three teens fled the area; all three were eventually caught by police. According to authorities, one of the teens had several bags of marijuana in his pants pocket and another teenager was in possession of the key to the car.

A 13-year-old male was charged with receiving stolen property. A 16-year-old male was charged with joyriding. A 17-year-old male was charged with joyriding, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with the intent to distribute CDS, and possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1000 feet of a school zone. All three were released to a parent/guardian.
