50 Self-storage Units Damaged in Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Fire
Some four dozen self-storage units were damaged in a fire in Egg Harbor Township Thursday afternoon.
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department says the blaze started just after 1:00 at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Egg Harbor Township on the Black Horse Pike near Fernwood Avenue.
Firefighters arrived to find the "A" building of the complex engulfed in flames.
The Egg Harbor Township Volunteer Fire Department initiated a well-coordinated response, deploying multiple fire engines, ladder trucks, and support personnel to address the situation promptly and effectively. Fire personnel faced challenging conditions, including heavy smoke and flames, but were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
Fire companies from Northfield, Mays Landing, 177th Fighter Wing, and the Atlantic City International Airport arrived on scene to support EHT firefighters.
The Egg Harbor Township Fire Inspection Unit is actively investigating the cause of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
