A Popular New Jersey Office Superstore Has Closed
This exact same unpleasant experience took place several years ago in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
Effective January 12, 2024, The Staples Office Superstore, located in the Saddle Brook, New Jersey mall has closed forever.
New Jersey will still have its fair share of Staples office supply stores, with a total of 57 remaining.
Staples has almost 1,000 stores nationwide.
NJ Advance Media for NJ.com was the first to report the latest New Jersey closure.
Staples has not yet provided a public reason for the closure.
NJ.com confirmed the closure through a Staples Saddle Brook mall employee.
The Staples Saddle Brook store was located at 225 Route 46, near the Walmart Superstore and the Saddle Brook Mall shopping mall.
They held a closing sale in advance of the actual store closing.
In the digital age, the closing of bricks and mortar stores is happening with increased frequency.
It’s just so darn easy to order anything that you want from your smartphone and it shows up 1-2 days later with no fuss, no muss.
The desire to face to touch and feel an item before purchasing it is over.
When you need coot paper, ink cartridges, binders and all other office supplies … you can simply dial with your fingers and not have to drive to a store and pick-up your supplies.
Instead, they simply arrive right to your mailbox or front porch.
That’s hard to compete against. Hence, it appears clear that over time, we will see more and more bricks and mortar stores close … simply due to the convenience of digitally ordering your wants and needs.
