Absecon Man Charged in Residential Burglary Case
Absecon, N.J. — An Absecon man is facing charges following a residential burglary investigation earlier this week.
The Absecon Police Department said this past Thursday evening at about 6:45, its officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Haddon Avenue for a report of a home that had been burglarized.
Investigation Finds Forced Entry, Stolen Property
Their investigation revealed that an unknown person had forcibly entered a residence a couple of hours earlier and items were stolen from inside.
The following morning, the victim provided additional information to officials that directed them to a nearby home. As officers approached and made contact with the occupants, a man, later identified as 27-year-old Kenneth D. Davis of Absecon, allegedly fled from the rear on foot. Officers quickly located Davis, and he was detained without incident.
Charges Filed and Property Recovered
Davis was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and defiant trespass. Following processing, he was committed to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending court proceedings.
During their investigation, officers recovered property stolen during the burglary.
Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Absecon Police Department at (609) 641-0667. Anonymous tips are welcome.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
