Absecon, NJ, Resident Encounters & Takes Photo of Large Drone
A very devoted listener and reader from Absecon, New Jersey has reached out to me regarding his recent experience, when he encountered a large drone.
Here is what Jim Cottrell wrote to us:
Dear Harry,
Thanks for all you do with your show and investigative reporting. It is more than appreciated by me and many, many others
Anyhow, I just witnessed a drone hovering over the Absecon NJ Transit Train Station. I had taken my wife to the station for her trip to Philly. I was in the parking lot waiting for the train to arrive to ensure her safe departure. She called me from up on the platform and said " I thought drones in Absecon are illegal". Recent FAA ruling/ directives make drone flight in many NJ cities prohibited. Absecon is one of them. I got out of my car and took pictures as best as I could. I then called the Absecon Police to report the incident. This is what I saw and when it occurred: There was a drone hovering over the raised Absecon Train Station on Sunday, January 5. The drone was approx a few hundred feet over the tracks. As the NJ Transit Train arrived at 10:42 am, the drone descended to approximately 10 ft above the incoming train. There was a male operator who appeared to have a control device to operate the drone. He was wearing a Khaki colored army type coat. The train departed and then reported the incident to the Absecon Police when I arrived home. Harry, sorry for my rambling above text. I am hoping that it may tie to other info you may have. Your Devoted Listener, Jim Cottrell.
No apologies Jim. Your communication is one of the most detailed that we have received, yet.
Here is a look at the drone in Absecon that Jim was able to capture in a photograph.
We have heard from many area residents since drones started flying in large numbers since mid-November, 2024.
The fact that government has refused to offer a credible explanation for this leaves the public at large with many questions about what this is really all about.
Karen Hurley McDonald has stayed on top of tye many drones that continue to fly over the skies of Atlantic City on a nightly basis.
Here are some of the photographs that have been taken by Karen. The first photo is from last night … it depicts the most drones in the skies of Atlantic City to date … followed by other drone sightings of past several weeks:
