Accidental Shooting Investigated at Fort Dix
A shooting at Fort Dix, believed to be accidental, is under investigation, according to several published reports.
6 ABC reports the incident took place on a firing range on Saturday evening around 6 p.m. and the wounded soldier was flown from the Burlington County base to Capital Health System in Trenton for treatment.
Retired Lt. Col. George Wright, current deputy director for media relations at the U.S. Army told the Star-Ledger, "I'm told there was an accident on a range"
Artillery training has been underway at the Joint Base all weekend.
