All Atlantic City casinos will close until further notice effective 8:00 tonight.

The governors of New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut have all agreed to a set of restrictions designed to halt the spread of COVID-19.

Those restrictions include a ban on gatherings of 50 people or more and all bars, restaurants, gyms, theaters, and casinos will close tonight until further notice. Restaurants may continue to offer take-out and delivery and on-line gambling will continue in New Jersey. The governors said essential businesses like supermarkets and gas stations will be able to stay open late.

"We want everybody to be home, not out," Murphy said -- and the only way to ensure that is to have a standard set of topline directives and restrictions.

Murphy said he would be expanding statewide directives this afternoon, but as of now, he says all non-essential businesses must close at 8:00 nightly. Non-essential travel is strongly discouraged between 8PM and 5AM.
