The Atlantic City Police Department says they have arrested a cash register bandit and it's not the first time he's broken the law.

The latest event happened around 6:45 Wednesday evening, September 11th, at a convenience store in the 3800 block of Ventnor Avenue.

According to authorities, officers at the scene learned that the suspect, 41-year-old William Flores of Atlantic City, entered the store, talked with the merchant, left, and then later returned wearing different clothes and allegedly stole a cash register without saying anything.

After an investigation, Flores was identified after allegedly committing similar heists last year.

The next day, an ACPD was on the Boardwalk when she observed Flores, who fled but was eventually taken into custody.

Flores has been charged with theft, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice, and remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Atlantic City Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit at (609) 347-5766.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
