Following an investigation, the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department recovered a Glock 44 handgun that was brandished during an altercation directly out front of the Civil Courthouse in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

About The Altercation, The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Say

On June 2, 2025, officers from the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a verbal altercation outside the Civil Courthouse in Atlantic City, reportedly involving a firearm being brandished. Sheriff's Officers V. Esher, J. Gerner, L. Unda, R. Frey, J. Marin, and E. Francis responded to the incident. The officers investigated the reported incident and subsequently recovered a Glock 44 handgun, said the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Department.

Trevon Ashley-Chance, 32, of Egg Harbor City Arrested

CHARGES:

• Unlawful possession of a weapon.
• possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
• Terroristic Threats (two counts).

Trevon Ashley-Chance is presently being housed at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
