Even with an up and down start to the 2019 season, the 3-2 Philadelphia Eagles remain favorites to play into January.

After winning two straight games, including an upset win at Lambeau Field against the Packers, an ESPN-owned analytics company has Philadelphia as the NFL's seventh likeliest team to make the playoffs.

FiveThirtyEight.com gives the Eagles a 64% chance at the postseason through their 100,000 simulations of the regular season. These simulations update every week.

Their updated chances at winning the NFC East is 57%, fourth highest in the league.

Despite a daunting six-game stretch against teams with a combined record of 22-8, the Eagles are still seen as more than just playoff contenders.

FiveThirtyEight not only gives Philadelphia great odds at winning the division and making the postseason, but there are only five teams with a better chance at winning the Super Bowl.

The Eagles certainly have a lot of competition early on as 11 NFC teams are above .500 with just six playoff spots given out.

It is understandable to see where these projections are coming from however.

Philadelphia has managed to get to 3-2 despite injuries to many key plays on both offense and defense.

They've been able to do it without playing their cleanest football either (the Eagles were penalized nine times against the Jets on Sunday).

Averaging 28 points per game (7th most in the NFL), strong starts from Carson Wentz and the offensive line, and the return of many players from injury such as WR DeSean Jackson and multiple cornerbacks, should instill confidence that the Eagles won't need a second straight miracle to make the playoffs.

If they can get through the next six games at .500 or above, their final five games could set the Eagles up to get hot down the stretch.

Running the table wouldn't be out of the question.
