Hundreds of thousands of emails and letters have been going out to folks who are eligible for a share of the recent settlement of a class-action lawsuit against Live Nation.

Just a small fraction of eligible claimants have already filed for their piece of the pie, which includes three free lawn tickets for select events at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel or the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, as well as a $5 credit toward future ticket purchases.

The settlement, scheduled for a final approval hearing in March, is the result of a suit filed by two New Jersey residents who accused Live Nation of tacking on unnecessary fees to each ticket sold.

The settlement affects anyone who bought tickets online for a PNC show at or between June 23, 2003 and June 15, 2011. Notices have directed recipients to a website where they can complete the process. There are more than 360,000 people who are eligible, each with their own unique PIN number.

"I really want to encourage people to really try and dig up their emails or mailings and make those claims," said Henry Wolfe, the attorney representing the plaintiffs. "You have nothing to lose; it doesn't cost anything."

Live Nation's settlement website has provided a toll-free number for those who may have mistakenly deleted or trashed the notice - (855) 569-5890. Wolfe said concerned concertgoers can also reach out to The Wolf Law Firm LLC in North Brunswick at (732) 545-7900.

Those who received the notice by email have must have their claims filed by April 30. The deadline is May 10 for those who received a notice through regular mail. The settlement does not affect those who purchased tickets at the PNC box office during the specified timeframe.
