Atlantic City Cops: Man Arrested for Stealing NJ EMS Task Force Vehicle
A Camden County man is facing charges after cops say he stole an emergency vehicle, crashed into several parked cars, and then drove on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
The scene unfolded around 9:30 Monday night when a citizen stopped an Atlantic City police officer in regards to a New Jersey EMS Task Force vehicle that was parked on Iowa Avenue with its lights and siren on, according to authorities.
Police say their investigation revealed that 31-year-old Patrick Ford of Clementon got into the vehicle while it was parked at Harrah’s. While he was driving it, cops say he hit several parked vehicles and objects, which caused extensive damage. He then drove onto the Atlantic City Boardwalk at Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. before exiting at Iowa Avenue.
Ford was arrested on Tuesday and charged with theft and two counts of criminal mischief. He was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
