Cops in Atlantic City say a call for service for a man with a gun Saturday afternoon resulted in three people being arrested a gun being seized.

Authorities say around 1:30PM Saturday, officers responded to the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue for a report of a man in his vehicle loading a gun. A 911 caller was able to provide cops with a detailed description of the man and the vehicle he was in.

The vehicle was quickly located and officers observed 34-year-old Stephen Jenkins of New Haven, CT, who matched the description from the 911 call, standing on the passenger side with the door open. Police say Jenkins got into the car as they approached; commands for him to get out were initially ignored but he did eventually surrender. Two other occupants, 43-year-old Almeen Palmer of Atlantic City and 35-year-old Anastasia Santos of Trumball, CT, were also removed from the vehicle and detained.

A press release states that inside the vehicle, officers located a handgun and ammunition on the passenger side floorboard and a small amount of marijuana. Fourteen grams of marijuana was located in Santos’s bag.

Jenkins and Palmer were both charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and certain person not to possess a weapon. Jenkins was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility; Palmer was released on a summons with a future court date.

Santos was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of CDS. She was also released on a summons with a future court date.
