There is little doubt that this whole preceding is a political vendetta that Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small has against Devlin.
It appears that Small has lined up the votes to remove Devlin from office.
Devlin was publicly opposed to Small’s wife Dr. La’Quetta Small becoming Atlantic City Superintendent of Public Schools.
Devlin has also opposed Small on other Atlantic City issues.
Small worked against Devlin in the last Board of Education Election. Devlin won re-election despite Small’s active and vocal opposition.

Atlantic City Council voted 5-3 two weeks ago to investigate Devlin further and hold an open public hearing tonight at 5:00 p.m.
We have spoken with a number of local officials today. Everyone that we’ve talked with expects that Devlin is going to be removed as early as tonight.
Devlin is being represented by local attorney David Castellani.
There appears to be no doubt that Devlin will be suing the City of Atlantic City, Mayor Small, members of city Council and members of the Atlantic City municipal utilities authorities.
We’ll update you after tonight’s meeting.
