We have confirmed that Atlantic City, New Jersey 2nd Ward Councilwoman LaToya Dunston has filed a harassment complaint against Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small.

Dunston initiated the complaint process this past Wednesday, November 2, 2022 with the Atlantic City Police Department.

We have confirmed that Dunston officially signed the complaint against Small earlier today, Friday, November 4, 2022.

Because both Dunston and Small are City of Atlantic City elected officials, Dunston was advised by the Atlantic City Police Department that the matter will be sent to a nearby conflict Court … likely Margate or Brigantine.

Here are the allegations:

NOTE: We have spoken directly with Dunston, who did not wish to provide detailed public comments at this time, except to say, “I want to allow the legal process against Mayor Small to take its natural course,” said Dunston.

Additionally, Dunston was willing to go on the public record and confirmed that everything that we are reporting here is an accurate portrayal about events that allegedly took place on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

The alleged “harassment” incident took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. this past Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the Atlantic City 1st Ward Civic Association candidate’s event, held at the Uptown School Complex.

Although the event was for actual candidates running in the upcoming Tuesday, November 8, 2022 General Election, Small was afforded the opportunity as a courtesy (as Mayor) to speak to those in attendance.

We have been advised by numerous witnesses that Small utilized the time that was provided to him to make political attacks against Atlantic City Council President George Tibbitt, Councilman Bruce Weekes, Councilwoman Dunston and former Atlantic City Council President Craig Callaway.

Small made many derogatory comments, calling the 3 Atlantic City incumbent council members puppets and Callaway a puppet master.

Multiple witnesses have reported to us that as Small finished speaking, he took a direct route within about five feet of Dunston, whereby Dunston has confirmed to us that Small said “F*ck you stupid bitch.”

Dunston also advised that Small “has been harassing me since 2015.”

Callaway and Weekes were nearby witnesses to the incident. Callaway confirmed to us that the events unfolded as has been reported here. He did not wish to publicly comment further at this time … because he did not want the story to be made about him and that the focus should be squarely on Dunston being harassed by Small.

We also have spoken with Atlantic City Councilman president George Tibbitt, who is taking the same approach and not publicly commenting at this time.

Developing.
