What an exciting year it has been for both Atlantic City high school and Holy Spirit High School football fans.

Both teams are 7-1 and playoff bound.

Holy Spirit High School has had great success over the past several years. Atlantic City High School had been struggling previous to this year.

Both teams are putting it all together at the same time for the first time in a long while.

This should make for the most competitive Thanksgiving Day game in years, between these two iconic local rivalry schools.

On Thursday, November 24, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m., you can join me and Mike Gill for our annual live coverage on WPG Talk Radio 95.5 FM, 1450 AM and the WPG smartphone App.

Thanksgiving Day kick-off time is 10:00 a.m., this year live from Ed Byrnes Stadium in Absecon New Jersey at Holy Spirit High School.

Atlantic City has only one blemish on its record this season, a 56-26 loss to Mainland Regional high school, back on September 16, 2022.

Holy Spirit’s only loss was on September 9, 2022, a heart-breaking 26-22 loss to Long-time parochial rival St. Joseph (Hammonton).

The Atlantic City versus Holy Spirit Thanksgiving Day game it’s such a great tradition. For many people, this is the only time that they come home each year.

Another neat thing about this nearly century old rivalry is that there are crossover relationships. Spouses who attended each of the two schools. Coaches who have attended one school and coached at the other.

You can join both Atlantic City and Holy Spirit programs on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, on-air during the 8:00 a.m. hour on “Hurley in the Morning” on WPG Talk Radio 95.5

This is a tradition for the past 30 years.
