Atlantic City Man Arrested for Drugs, Gun, and Fleeing From Cops
In the early morning hours of Friday, an Atlantic City man was arrested after running from officers and being found in possession of a handgun and drugs.
According to a press release, ACPD patrol officers responded to Indiana and Atlantic Avenues just after midnight Friday for a report of a man with a gun and drugs.
An officer arrived to find the man, 24-year-old Nashid Seymour of Atlantic City, walking on Indiana Avenue. The officer Sendrick attempted to stop Seymour who immediately fled on foot. During the pursuit Seymour discarded a backpack, which was retrieved. Two other officers eventually apprehended Seymour in the 1700 block of Pacific Avenue.
Inside of a fanny pack around Seymour’s waist, officers reportedly recovered a loaded handgun, 77 bags of heroin, and 19.5 grams of marijuana.
Seymour was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, and two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession with the intent to distribute CDS.
