Atlantic City Man Charged With Murder Following Neighborhood Dispute
Authorites say a 69-year-old man from Atlantic City has been charged with murder following a neighborhood dispute Saturday morning.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office says Atlantic City Police received a 911 call at approximately 11:24 Saturday morning in reference to a victim with a gunshot wound at 1507 Belfield Avenue in Atlantic City.
The victim, 32-year-old Marketa Thorpe, was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-City Division where she was pronounced dead.
Shortly after the shooting, 69-year-old Maximo Santiago was apprehended by Atlantic City Police officers.
Santiago has been charged First degree Murder, Second degree Possession of a Weapon, Third degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Second degree Certain Persons Not to have Weapons. He is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
