
Aggravated Assault & The Atlantic City, New Jersey Man
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that an Atlantic City, New Jersey man has been sentenced for aggravated assault and more.
Calvin Gunn

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, Calvin Gunn, 41 years old, from Atlantic City, New Jersey, was sentenced by New Jersey Superior Court Judge Pamela D'Arcy.
Gunn received a sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison.
Gunn was convicted of third-degree aggravated assault.

Gunn also pleaded guilty to violating his probation in two prior cases and was resentenced in each case to three years in New Jersey State Prison.
All of the sentences will run concurrent to each other.

Has said the following:
On September 5, 2025, officers from Atlantic City Police Department responded to a residence in Atlantic City for a report of a woman being assaulted. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who reported that her boyfriend, Calvin Gunn, had entered her home while she was sleeping and attacked her, striking her multiple times in the head and face area. As a result of hat assault, the victim sustained persistent ringing in her ear. The victim's children were present in the home at the time of the assault and heard their mother being assaulted. Gunr fled the scene prior to police arrival, but officers were able to locate and apprehend him later that same day. While pleading guilty, Defendant admitted he caused significant bodily injury to the victim by assaulting her, said the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
