
Atlantic City, NJ, Jury May Not Be Buying Mayor Legal Defense Show
The Atlantic City, New Jersey Mayor Marty Small legal defense team put on quite a show during his child abuse criminal trial. The jury may not have bought it.
The jury began deliberations yesterday afternoon. Their initial moves may be a cause for alarm for the Small defense legal team.
Potential Bad News For Marty Small
You never want to read too much into any one early move that a jury makes.
However, within about one hour after taking the case for their deliberations … the jury asked to review digital evidence that may provide a window into their early focus.

The jury wanted to immediately hear the January 3, 2024 audio recording of Marty Small allegedly making threats.
There is a recording of Marty Small making an alleged threat towards his daughter as included the following:
I'm going to earth slam her down the steps, said Marty Small on a recorded conversation. Come past this line and I'm gonna grab you by the head and throw you on the ground! Nothing is going to happen to me, said Small.

It’s easy to get caught-up in the “show” trial that was put on by the Marty Small defense team in this case.
However, the jury may not have bought it, after all.
The jury’s early questions thus far appear to be centered exactly where the prosecution side would want the focus to be.

For their first full day of deliberations. It’s way too early to say with any certainty exactly which way the jury is leaning, but, the early warning signs appear ominous for Marty Small.
