The Atlantic City, New Jersey Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred in March, 2023.

On May 4, 2023, at 1:48 p.m., the keen eye of Atlantic City Police  Officer Christopher Campbell saw Jawaun Yeoman in the 4000 block of Ventnor Avenue.

Officer Campbell recognized Yeoman from a flyer that had been distributed by the Atlantic City Police Department after the shooting.

The investigation and capture of Yeoman was conducted by Atlantic City Police detectives, who are assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit, which has led to the following person being charged with the following long list criminal offenses.

ARRESTED:

Jawaun Yeoman, 25, of Somers Point, New Jersey.

CHARGES:

  • Aggravated assault.
  • aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
  • unlawful possession of a weapon (2 counts).
  • possession of a weapon for an unlawtul purpose.
  • conspiracy.
  • a person not permitted to possess weapons.
  • possession of a 'ghost gun'
  • possession of a defaced firearm.
  • possession of a large capacity magazine.

Yeoman was taken to snd being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

The charges are the result of a shooting that took place on March 25, 2023.

Patrol Officers At 7:40 PM, patrol responded to Sovereign and Sunset Avenues following the shooting.

Initially. the Atlantic City Police Officers found evidence of a shooting, but, no victim.

Shortly thereafter. a gunshot victim,  a 33-year-old male victim from Atlantic City arrived to the emergency room at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division for treatment.
