In life, Jimmy Buffett had a great, close relationship over the years with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

From Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville on the Boardwalk at Resorts Casino Hotel … to the iconic Jimmy Buffett beach concert … which was masterfully created by the legendary Tom Cantone, President of Sports and Entertainment at Mohegan Gaming Entertainment (MGE).

In a previous interview that I conducted with Cantone at the time about Jimmy Buffett, he said:

"It was one for the record books and it was the biggest live casino concert dates I ever booked. Some 75,000 people packed the beach for a free concert on June 15, 2013 in conjunction with the opening of Jimmy Buffet's Magaritaville at Resorts Casino. It was also my homecoming of sorts. I left "AC" some 15 years earlier to go to Connecticut where I have been for exactly the same amount of years now. Hard to believe I've been in this business for 30 years," said Cantone.

The Jimmy Buffett - Resorts Casino Hotel Atlantic City connection continues with an upcoming special event, titled “Fins Up Tailgate Celebration,” which is set for Sunday, September 1, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The event honors Jimmy Buffett by celebrating his legacy with an afternoon on the boardwalk with music, games, Hawaiian shirts and cold beverages.

Additionally, there will be a special performance in the Superstar Theater … an unforgettable show by Changes In Latitudes – America’s Premier Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band.

Guests are being encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirts and grass skirts to the celebration to be eligible for great prizes like tree tickets to the Changes in Latitudes show! Tailgate games include water pong, cornhole and hole in one putt-putt.
