Atlantic City, NJ, & All East Coast Wind Turbines To be Halted
Offshore wind turbine opponents have been anxiously awaiting for Donald Trump to take office as President of the United States on January 20, 2025 at 12:00 noon, ET.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew, R-NJ-2, offered a very important update today regarding the offshore wind turbine activities planned for all over the East Coast, including off of the coast of Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Atlantic City project is preparing to spend two years burying high power, electrical cables directly underneath stable residential neighborhoods in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
This wind turbine project has already cost one member of the Atlantic City Council his seat (at a recent special election) for supporting the project that residents largely disapprove of.
Van Drew has been working with President Trump for months to craft an executive order that will ban the implementation of wind turbines on the entire East Coast.
The Trump Presidential executive action would be the first effort to stop the wind turbines in their tracks.
Van Drew also confirmed that the executive action would be followed up with permanent measures to prevent the wind turbines from ever being implemented.
"These offshore wind projects should have never been approved in the first place," said Congressman Van Drew. "The Biden administration rammed them through the approval process without proper oversight, transparent lease agreements, or a full understanding of their devastating consequences. They are an economic and environmental disaster waiting to happen. The Biden administration's reckless green agenda put politics over people, and that ends now. President Trump is committed to stopping these harmful projects and is taking decisive action. This executive order is just the beginning. We will fight tooth and nail to prevent this offshore wind catastrophe from wreaking havoc on the hardworking people who call our coastal towns home,” said Van Drew.
