A first of its kind collaboration between the City of Atlantic City, Atlantic City Board of Education and a Philadelphia motivational speaker will come together on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Better Decision Making

Taking just a few seconds to pause and think before reacting can change the course of a life. That's the message Philadelphia motivational speaker Eric "Shabazz the OG" Lowe shares around the world, and he's bringing it to Atlantic City on Monday. Lowe will first speak with Atlantic City gth grade students about critical thinking and making smart choices, encouraging them to take a moment before acting in certain situations. Then, Lowe will travel to City Hall, where Atlantic City will officially become the first city to recognize the "3 to 30 Seconds" Global Moment to Pause, said Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small.

City Proclamation

Mayor Small will present Lowe with a proclamation just before the “pause.”
